Hi, I'm Jenny and I began making pottery in 2019, shortly after my son successfully finished treatment for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.  I needed a therapeutic outlet for my mind and soul, and decided to give ceramics a try.  Almost immediately I fell in love with the process, although it definitely took some time to get the hang of making anything usable.  I am mostly self-taught and I love the creative process of trying out new ideas.  About a year into making pottery I decided to try making candles to fill some of the pots.  I soon realized that I love making candles also. Unique handmade pottery and lovely smelling candles is what J Bird pottery is all about.  So where did the name J Bird come from?  It was the nickname my paternal grandfather "Paw Paw" gave me as a kid. I have some wonderful childhood memories as his "JBird" so when thinking of a name for my pottery, it just seemed to fit.  I hope you will love J Bird pottery as much as I love making it.
